Similar to the ‘Creature,’ this design features all the essential components—supporting structure, arms, lamps, and cable—yet Marcantonio’s bold, artistic approach merges elements of both art and design to create a unique, deconstructed silhouette. By blending various shapes, materials, and styles, this piece evokes the essence of lighting from different times and cultures. The central structure, made from white metal, showcases numerous Murano blown glass arms with a frosted white finish. Crystal rosettes and bobeches from Bohemia, inspired by 18th-century Venetian traditions, adorn the joints. The design incorporates unexpected pendant elements, including a classic gas lamp, a fabric-shaded bedside lamp, a glass bell, a flexible-arm lamp, and even a neon bar reminiscent of the 1980s. Adding a playful twist, the design features quirky details such as a glass fish and a pink neon heart, which provide the piece’s only burst of color.
